How to Prepare a PDF File for a Custom Order in Stickerize?Updated a month ago

If you'd like full control over your sticker design, you can submit your own PDF file for a custom order. To ensure your file is production-ready, please follow the technical requirements below.

We Still Accept Custom Orders!

Even though our editor handles most designs automatically, we're happy to work with custom PDF files. There are two ways to place a custom order:

  1. 1Out-of-editor flow — Send us your production-ready PDF and we'll handle the rest. We'll generate an invoice for payment via bank transfer.
  2. Standard Shopify flow — Place an order through our website with the exact dimensions you need, and provide your PDF file for production.

In both cases, your PDF must meet the specifications below.

PDF Layer Structure

Every production-ready PDF must include the following layers:

Mandatory Layers:

  • Raster — Your artwork/image layer containing the visual design.
  • CutContour — The cut line that defines the shape of your sticker.

Optional Layer:

  • WhiteMask — A white underprint layer. This is required for all materials except vinyl, sand, satin, and canvas. Without it, colors may appear semi-transparent and white areas of your design won't be visible.

Cut Line Specifications

Cut lines must use specific spot colors with the following CMYK values:

  • CutContour (die-cut): C=2, M=92, Y=0, K=0
  • CutContour_Kiss (kiss-cut): C=0, M=83, Y=100, K=0
  • CutContour_Rect (rectangular - sharp edges): C=33, M=0, Y=97, K=0

Bleed Requirements

  • Die-cut and rectangular stickers: 3–5 mm bleed beyond the cut line.
  • Kiss-cut stickers: At least 3 mm bleed beyond the cut line.

Your artwork must extend into the bleed area — no white or blank space should be visible within the bleed zone.

Color Mode

Please prepare your file in CMYK color mode. Our printers operate exclusively in CMYK, and RGB files may result in unexpected color shifts during production.

Dimensions

All dimensions should be specified in millimeters (mm). The file dimensions should match the exact sticker size you want — no additional scaling will be applied during production.

File Submission Tips

  • Flatten all layers and outline any text to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Remove unnecessary elements or hidden layers.
  • Double-check that your cut line layer uses the correct spot color name and values.
  • Include a WhiteMask layer if your chosen material requires it.
